Phone ‘n’ Ride service suspended

An update on Phone 'n' Ride services

Phone ‘n’ Ride service suspended

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, have been in discussions with the Phone ‘n’ Ride delivery partner, Stagecoach East Midlands. Collectively, they have made the decision to suspend Phone ‘n’ Ride services.

Following discussions and in line with Government guidance in relation to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the Phone ‘n’ Ride service will be temporarily withdrawn in the interests of public and driver safety.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said:

“These are unprecedented times and the council is having to make some difficult decisions.

Our message is for people not to worry and to follow the Government advice so we can beat this virus.”

North East Lincolnshire Council have said:

“Following Government guidance on Covid-19, our passengers are encouraged to stop all non-essential contact and travel.

This is particularly important for people over 70, people with underlying health conditions and pregnant women.

Further updates about the service will be made available as they happen.”

Passengers booked on to the service will be informed, and all Phone ‘n’ Ride users will be contacted when the service is back operational.

Service users are advised to consult the Phone ‘n’ Ride website for regular updates.
