Arrests made over drugs gangs in Swindon
Last week we reported that two leaders of a Swindon drugs gang, who are now on the run, have received a collective jail sentence of over 13 years for distributing between £95,450 – £100,000 of crack cocaine and heroin. They still have not been captured. However, an update issued by Wiltshire Police it has stated that five other people have now been arrested and charged following a week of action in January targeting county lines drugs gangs in Swindon.
During the week, under Operation Samphire, a total of 61 arrests were made across the town following a series of warrants and proactive patrols.
Yesterday the following men were charged:
Kenneth Cox, 44, of Penhill, charged with three counts of supplying class A drugs
Craig Murray, 41, of no fixed address, Swindon, charged with four counts of supplying class A drugs
Brandon Rouse-McCue, 23, of Lyndhurst Crescent, Park North, charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and two counts of supplying class A drugs.
A further two people have been charged today. They are:
Omar Ibrahim, 22, of Leytonstone, Waltham Forest, London charged with five counts of supplying class A drugs
Kyle Menham, 21, of Thornbridge Avenue, Swindon, charged with nine counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
All five are due to attend Swindon Magistrates Court on March 18.
