Grimsby Woman who threatened to shoot officers is jailed.

A Grimsby woman who threatened to shoot officers and assaulted a fellow prisoner gets 5 years in jail.

A woman who pointed an imitation firearm at police officers in Grimsby has today been handed a 5 year prison sentence for that and a GBH assault committed while on remand in prison. She threw a table at a fellow prisoner resulting in the victim receiving 15 stitches to her head.

Jessica Fitzgerald (27) from Crosby Road, Grimsby made threats to shoot officers as they arrived to locate a missing girl at her address.

As officers carried out a search for a missing girl on Sunday 24 February 2019 she produced a rifle and aimed it at unarmed officers who had to retreat and call in armed officers.

Detective Constable Wayne Martin said, “The sentencing today reflects the serious nature of the offences. Our officers come to work to protect the public and deal with those who chose live outside the law, I am pleased to know that Jessica Fitzgerald will no longer be posing a risk to either the public or the police.”
