A man has been arrested after a suspected arson attack.

A mum and her two young children had to flee their home in Montague Street Cleethorpes after a fire yesterday. Humberside Police confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. It is believed he was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before his arrest. The fire started on the first floor of the house and two crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue attended the fire at approximately 10 am yesterday.

It is understood that Fire investigators and scenes of crime teams were at the house most of the day. Occupants of the house were able to leave the building safely. Anyone who may have any information can call police on 101 quoting log 141.
