A court case against a Vietnamese man who was forced to grow cannabis plants in Scunthorpe has collapsed after he was found to be a victim of modern day slavery.

Quang Van Ho was one of three men locked inside a giant cannabis factory on the Foxhills Industrial Estate.

He had been left there for two months with just bags of rice to eat.

When officers broke into the warehouse they found three men inside: 48-year-old Ho and two other men aged 46 and 30.

They were all arrested and charged with producing cannabis however their names have been cleared.

Fifteen thousand marijuana plants were found during the raid. It is believed to be the biggest cannabis factory to have ever been uncovered in northern Lincolnshire and thought to be worth £4 million.
