Tragedy of kind caretaker.
John Anderson 56 tragically took his own life as he faced mounting gambling debts an inquest at Cleethorpes Town Hall heard. He was found by builders who were working at Kirmington Street Helena’s Church of England Primary School during a school holiday.
It is believed he had spent tens of thousands of pounds of a lump sum pension on gambling after he had developed an addiction to fruit machines. He has been described as the most amazing family man and the family encourages anybody who is struggling with mental health difficulties to reach out to their family and friends and seek support. He had worked in mines and later on North Sea Rigs and after he took his pension from his mining career he went to work at St Helena’s school and it was thought his only concern was work-related.
But since his death, it came to light that he had a gambling habit using some tens of thousands of pounds and credit card debt.
