Is it about time that the rest of the UK banned children from heading footballs?
As the Scotland Football Association gets ready to announce a ban on primary school children heading footballs later this month do you believe that the rest of the UK should ban it too?
The US has had a similar ban on children heading footballs since 2015. There are fears that repeated impacts on the skull could lead to dementia.
Major studies have shown that former footballers are at greater risk of dementia and other degenerative brain diseases, scientists have suggested that repeated small head impacts could be to blame.
It is believed that Former England captain Alan Shearer once said that he fears that he would get dementia because he used to head the ball 100 times a day during his playing career.
EX-Arsenal and Celtic striker John Hartson has praised the Scottish FA for their stance on the subject. Scotland will be the first European country to ban primary school children from heading footballs.
