Stretch of A18 to close for six months.

A road that is known as one of Lincolnshire’s most dangerous roads will close at the end of January for six months as part of a £2.8m scheme to improve road safety.

The A 18 will be fully closed between the Laceby roundabout and the Waltham Road Junction. The work on the stretch of road will continue until July 24th and drivers will have to find alternative routes.

The road will be widened with right turn lanes introduced at both the Oaklands Hotel and Laceby Manor Golf club during this phase.

During this phase, the only access from the A18 will be to Laceby Manor Golf club and the Willows caravan site while the work is ongoing. Access to the Oaklands Hotel and residential properties next to the hotel will be from the A46/A18 junction.

As the work progresses traffic management and access arrangements will be updated and residents and businesses will be notified of the changes.

The A18 was named one of the most dangerous roads in the country in 2016.
