Grandad of six jailed
Mark Roper 51 of Hadleigh Road Immingham became embroiled in a bitter row with neighbours over his missing dog. He attacked a man viciously who he suspected knew what had happened to his dog.
It is believed that there was no evidence that he had any grounds to attack the man. He broke the victim’s kneecap and knocked out a tooth when he set about him with a wooden stick.
Roper had a history of violence and had previous convictions for wounding. assaulting police and assault and had been jailed before. Mark Roper denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent on October 28th, 2017 but he was convicted by the jury at Grimsby Crown Court.
Roper had not been in trouble since 2016 and suffered health problems. Mark Roper who is a grandad to six grandchildren was jailed for five-and-a-half years.
