In the same week that we reported how Grimsby Diana Princess of Wales Hospital has been ordered to pay over £9 million in compensation for negligence, another of the county’s hospitals is under fire for severe delays to urgent care.
It has been reported that patients at Lincoln County Hospital are having to wait up to HALF A DAY to be admitted in A&E, even with serious conditions.
Ambulances have also had to queue outside the building as there was insufficient staff and resource to admit patients quick enough.
One patient told our reporters “we have been advised to use the pharmacy or GP if at all possible – but certain incidents need immediate attention hence why we went to A&E. I’m sure some people don’t need to be there but what about those that do?”
What have your experiences been at this hospital? Have you used A&E and were you waiting long?
With the festive season almost upon us, pressures faced by A&E and the paramedic teams across the county are expected to increase substantially as we enter one of the NHS’s busisest times of the year.
