By Vile Thugs Batter Swan To Death
Police were alerted to a call on Sunday afternoon from a member of public reporting that two men had
beaten a swan to death using a wooden plank.
The incident took place at 1:45pm in Mexborough on the side of the River Don canal.
Once leaving the scene, the two men were seen entering the George and Dragon pub on Church Street.
When the public received the news, it prompted a large response in Mexborough as they help aid
the police in order to catch the suspects.
It is also known that there have been reports of another swan being attacked with a crossbow.
An investigation is underway and anyone with any information should call police quoting crime reference number 14/155254/19.
