The family of Amelia Wood left devastated after the driver is cleared over her tragic death.
The family of Amelia Wood are to believed to have been left devastated. After they learned that no action will be taken against the driver of a heavily modified Land Rover. Amelia 11 died when the front wheel of the modified Land Rover Discovery came off. The wheel hit Amelia as she was walking to get her school bus on the B1200 Manby Middlegate near Louth. Amelia was airlifted to Queens Medical Centre Nottingham but she tragically died. Some of Amelia’s organs were donated for transplant. Her family has since raised nearly £90,000 for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and the hospital.
Amelia’s mum is disgusted that the Crown Prosecution Service has decided that no action is going to be taken against the driver. Because they could not bring enough evidence to prosecute the case following an investigation by crash investigators.
This has left them distraught and they are desperate for answers. It is believed that there will be an inquest into the tragedy which will be hoped can answer some of her questions. It is believed that the wheel was too big for the customised vehicle.
Amelia’s mum has worked hard in support of organ donations and she is now an ambassador for the Pass It On Campaign to encourage people to register for organ donation.
It is believed that Lincolnshire Police are awaiting the outcome of any appeal to the Crown Prosecution Service before they make a statement.
