Despicable.

A six-year-old boy was left heartbroken after he woke up on his sixth birthday to find burglars had ransacked his house and stolen his gifts and money from his birthday cards. The house in Duke Street was broken in to in the early hours of Friday.

His parents had laid out all his presents and cards the night before ready for Nathan Lewis to open in the morning. They discovered the carnage after going downstairs after being disturbed by a banging door at 4.30am. The despicable burglars had stolen money from Nathan’s Birthday cards and unwrapped and stolen some of his presents. They had searched the house for more items to take. The television had been unplugged and the cord wrapped around it in an attempt to steal it before they were disturbed. It is believed that they used the childrens school bags to fill them with things to steal. They also stole a handbag with bank cards and work ID in it. The house was left in carnage with the thieves going through all their cupboards. They are believed to have stolen a Nintendo Wii U, Alexa, money and other presents but they were disturbed before they could take Nathan’s main present. But it was packed in a bag ready for them run away with it before they were spooked by something.

It is believed that one man has been arrested following the incident. If anyone has any information regarding the incident they are asked to call Humberside Police on non -emergency number 101.
