Warning after Nitrous Oxide cannisters found in car park.
Waltham Park Bowls club had around 40-50 canisters of laughing gas scattered around. They were found on Sunday morning. It is believed that the cannisters may have been the result of teenagers binging on gas over the weekend.
The canisters which are Nitrous Oxide are sold in for different purposes including to whip cream. They are considered a cheap high some of them cost less than £4 for a pack of ten. It is thought that one man admitted he did not know what they were until he put a picture on facebook.
Some people believe that they aren’t dangerous but it would be hard to imagine that not at least one of the kids will go into harder stuff in the future. Also, a box of the cream chargers was found lying nearby. Humberside Police issued a warning about the dangerous use of nitrous oxide last month. When scores of silver capsules were found across Northern Lincolnshire. The warning police highlighted the potential risks, they include heart attacks, loss of blood pressure, fainting, and in extreme cases death. When mixed with alcohol or drugs laughing gas becomes even more dangerous.
Residents in Grimsby and Cleethorpes are asked by police to remain alert and report to them any sightings of cannisters. Under the psychoactive Substance act 2016, it is an offence to supply a psychoactive substance. It could lead to a sentence of seven years.
