By Your chance to have a say on the Council’s homelessness strategy
With over 4,500 people found to be sleeping rough across the UK according to Government figures released in October last year, it’s easy to see why Council’s need a homelessness strategy. And now, you can have your say on it.
North East Lincolnshire Council is consulting residents on the authority’s homelessness strategy.
The strategy sets out the local picture on homelessness – how people become homeless in our area, what they can do to prevent becoming homeless, and what support the Council and partner organisations can offer to get people back on their feet.
The consultation is asking for people’s views on what the aims and priorities of the Council’s homelessness strategy should be. People will also be asked about whether they find the strategy informative and easy to read.
The results will help the Council to update the strategy and the way they tackle homelessness in the future.
Councillor John Fenty, deputy leader and portfolio holder for regeneration, skills and housing at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “People tend to shy away from the topic of homelessness, but the reality is that it can happen to anyone.
“This is the opportunity for people to not only learn about the work the Council and our partners do to support people who are faced with homelessness, but also to have their say on the aims and priorities of the very document that sets out how we deal with the issue of homelessness.
“I would urge local residents to have a flick through the strategy, take in the information and complete the survey – we need to know what you think the priorities should be, and also whether the strategy is clear in what it’s trying to say.”

The consultation closes to the public on Sunday 13 October 2019.
