4 Paws animal cruelty couple walk free from court.

Jodie Fairbrother and her husband Paul left the court to foul-mouthed abuse and insults from furious animal lovers. They had left there home in Grimsby in fear and moved to Northern Cyprus because they had been suffering such online abuse.

They both received suspended sentences as the account of the serious effects of the social media campaign and that they had lost everything and were facing bankruptcy. They were banned from owning keeping or transporting animals for five years, and a minimum of three years before it can be applied to be lifted. They will be deprived of owning any animals they have and have been ordered to pay £500 costs each and a £115 victims surcharge.  Jodie Fairbrother admitted six counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. She also admitted four breaches of the duty of a person responsible for an animal to ensure its welfare. She was jailed for 18 weeks suspended for 12 months. Her husband admitted one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. He admitted two breaches of the duty of a person responsible for an animal to ensure its welfare. He was jailed for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months. It is believed that Jodie Fairbrother was under so much pressure she was admitted to a mental hospital and was sectioned under the Mental Health Act. It is thought that their family and children have suffered severely.

The charges had been bought by the RSPCA when it raided 4 paws in March 2018. More than 150 dogs, cats, and other animals were removed because of concerns for there welfare. The animals were found in appalling conditions there was a lack of water, strong smells of urine, feces, poor ventilation, and inadequate exercise area. It is believed that dead bodies of some animals were still around. the wounds on other animals had become infected.
