By A 44-year-old man arrested yesterday has been charged with the rape of a woman on Cleethorpes beach last week.
Mohammed Uddin of Augusta Street, Grimsby, was charged overnight and appeared at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday, 31 August) where he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
An investigation was launched after a report was received just after midnight on Thursday, 22 August, that a woman had been found on the beach near to Central Promenade in a distressed state.
CCTV images were released yesterday (Friday, 30 August) of potential witnesses who were in the area around the time and we are still keen to trace these people to assist with investigation.
