Great Grimsby Conservatives announce local Grimsby Councillor

“Great” Local Grimsby Councillor, Lia Nici, selected as Conservative MP candidate for Great Grimsby

Great Grimsby Conservatives announced local Grimsby Councillor Lia Nici as their MP candidate. Grimsby born-and-bred Cllr Nici won the support of local Conservatives in a selection against two other finalists.
Cllr Nici was born in Grimsby hospital, grew up in Grimsby, was a lecturer at Grimsby Institute for 20 years and now runs her own business. Cllr Nici lives locally with her husband and son.

On winning she said: “I will fight for you. As a Grimbarian it is an honour to represent local people. I am proud of our town, but it could be so much better. Labour have let us down locally. Our area needs an MP that will get Brexit done. An MP that will get Grimsby its fair share of the 20 billion pounds of new NHS funding, the 20,000 new police officers and the increased school funding. And an MP who will deliver a strong economy to bring the investment and jobs our area needs and fund the public services we all rely on. I will be that MP. Putting Grimsby back on the road to a brighter future.”
Steve Holland, Chairman of the Great Grimsby Conservative Association said, “We are delighted Cllr Nici is our candidate for MP. She has lived and worked locally her whole life and her ability and commitment in representing residents and the borough are truly excellent. Imagine what a great Conservative MP working closely with a Conservative led Council can deliver for Grimsby. Undoing decades of Labour misrule. Believe me, we would have a bright future ahead. More investment, jobs and public service funding. Just what the town needs.”
