Attacks by vandals and arsonists could be the end for Grimsby parkour park.
The parkour park in the Duke of York Gardens has come under repeated attacks by vandals and arsonists. The parkour park opened six years ago at a cost of £60,000. The latest incident was put under control quickly by Humberside Fire and Rescue services when they were called by a member of the public it could have destroyed all the safety flooring of the park which is now covered in black soot. Before that, a wheelie bin was set alight. The organisers an open day to be held at the park on Saturday will still go ahead.
The organisers are believed to have spoken to some of them to explain how they are there to help kids get out of causing anti-social behaviour, but it is still going on. All kids love to jump climb and play and Parkour challenges a young person and by doing it you are beating fear.
Some families are now not allowing their kids to come because of some kids being horrible and ruining it for everyone. They have no respect and it could make or break the park. The open day at the park is on Saturday from 11 am there will be skill-based and speed competitions with an entry price of £2. The event itself is free to anyone wanting to come and have a go.
