By Monday 24th June 2019 saw some great darts thrown at birdseye sports and social club for week 8 of the summer league.
Unfortunately Richard Foster this week decided he had to drop from the league due to the injury he was carrying the previous week, we wish fozzie a speedy recovery from the injury.
The only player not in attendance was Daz Mawer who will play extra fixtures over next 2 weeks.
The night got off to a great start for Ken Smith in his first game against Graham Field as ken went 2-0 up with a tidy 70 checkout with 20 bull to take the first leg, ken took the next leg in a very highscoring game however Graham won the next 4 legs to win the muchly entertaining game, Graham also hit a 117 checkout in the 3rd leg.
Graham also played John Riches which John won the game 4-0 leaving Graham with a mixed night.
John also played Hayden Newbegin 1st against 2nd and a game that got the spectators watching in anticipation Hayden won the game rather comfortably 4-1 after going 1-0 down.
Mark Braithwaite pictured above now well known as Mr committee within the league had an excellent night for results beating Stewart May and Gary Smith.
Daniel Keaney was involved in some very good high scoring games with himself hitting a 180 vs Stewart May and his 2nd opponent Callum Jewitt hitting a 180 against Daniel in a leg that Callum took only 14 darts from 501.
Others involved in 180 scoring was Laura Dwyer who got the 3 trebled against Lee Burch. However Lee came out on top winning 4-1.
Stuart cox picked up more points tonight also beating Laura as he seems to of settled into playing on Monday evening’s.
With Richard Foster dropping from the league his stats and results are now all void which means highest checkout is now only 120
19 180s have been hit by 10 different individuals leading the pack remains Daz Mawer with 4 closely followed by Daniel Keaney with 3.
Hayden now has 3 point gap at top of the league over John Riches whose now 2nd.
