A 37-year-old woman remains in custody on suspicion of drug offences following a warrant at a property in Lovett Street, Cleethorpes, yesterday morning (Monday, June 17).
Humberside Police’s proactive team led the operation which saw suspected Class A drugs, three knives, what they believe to be a BB gun and a number of mobile phones being recovered.
The 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin.
Community Beat Manager for the area, PC Gary Cooksey (pictured), said: “A number of people had spoken to my team about drug related crime in this area – both while we have been out and about and through our #HumberTalking initiative – so I am pleased we have been able to take this action today and show them that we are listening to their concerns.
“We know that this kind of offending can have a huge impact on the wider community and dealing with it is always a top priority for us.
“We may not always be able to act on the information you give us straight away and I know that can be frustrating but I want to reassure you that you’re not being ignored.
“When it comes to issues like drug-related crime, we need to build up the bigger picture to have the biggest impact.
“Once we’re satisfied we have all that we need to get the right result, that’s when we carry out warrants like the one we have today.
“Please keep that information coming. We are always collecting intelligence and information while we are out and about but we can’t be everywhere all the time.
“That’s where you can play a really important part, by letting us know about anything suspicious that’s happening down your street or at an address you pass when you’re on your way to the shops.
“Each bit of information can make a real difference.”
If you want to get in touch with, speak to the team when they’re out in your area, call the non-emergency 101 line or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
If you’re in danger, always call 999.
