A second arrest has been made by detectives investigating a break-in at a property in the Park Ward area yesterday morning (Sunday, June 16).
Humberside Police were called at around 9.30am yesterday after the occupants of the house awoke to discover there had been a break-in and that two blue Nissans – a Qashqai and a Micra – had been taken from the drive.
Earlier in the day, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and driving offences after officers searching for the vehicles spotted one matching the description of the Qashqai in Victor Street. However, the driver failed to stop and drove off at speed.
Officers brought the car safely to a stop in Asda car park and the man was arrested.
Yesterday afternoon the second vehicle was recovered from the Naseby Drive area and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Both remain in custody, helping police with their enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Doug Blackwood said: “I would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with us with information about the incident.
“With your assistance we have been able to trace both vehicles and should soon have them back with their rightful owner.”
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting log number 180 of June 16.
