By Shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Monday 3 June) officers arrested a man after a car failed to stop when instructed to do so by officers.
The car continued onto Ariston Street before colliding with a parked car and a wall. The driver then got out of the car and tried to run from the scene.
Officers caught and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving.
On checking the vehicle a machete was found and he was further arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and burglary. He remains in custody.
