New Manager and Nursing team strengthen Eaton Court Care Home

Eaton Court Care Home has recently employed a new Home Manager, Ann Ruttle joined the home in April and has already had a noticeable positive impact on the home.  Ann has been a qualified nurse since 1988 and managed her first care home in 1999.

In her short time at Eaton Court, Ann has significantly reduced the use of agency workers, which has made a big difference to resident’s as they are being cared for by familiar faces each day. This gives the permanent staff the opportunity to focus on more person-centred care for the residents of the home.

In November 2018, the home only had one Registered General Nurse on hand for two nights a week. The home now boasts an experienced team of five RGN’s who will receive ongoing clinical skills training to ensure that they are always providing the best nursing care to the residents.

Amongst the new faces however, residents are comforted by the familiar face of Christine Harper, the homes hairdresser who has been visiting the home weekly to cut resident’s hair for the past 20 years!

During a recent relative and residents meeting, feedback on the new management included:

“There is a completely different atmosphere in the home.”

“There is a noticeable difference in how the home is being run.”

Ann Ruttle commented: “I am excited to be joining the team at Eaton Court and to help bring the home to a higher level. The residents and their relatives are a part of our family so it is important to provide the best care that we possibly can.”

“I am proud to introduce our new nursing team, a stronger nursing team will mean a reduced amount of unplanned hospital admissions and more focus on person-centred care for our residents”

Tracey Tomlinson, Group Head of Sales and Marketing for Orchard Care Homes, added: “I am excited to see what Ann will bring to Eaton Court in the future. Ann has already introduced some fantastic improvements to the home and I am confident that she will be a great addition to the Orchard Care Homes family.”

Eaton Court Care Home is on Augusta Street in Grimsby, it has 43 ensuite bedrooms and offers 24-hour residential, nursing and respite care.
