Celebrating National Volunteers Week

ON Friday, June 7, Lincs Inspire Library Services will be recognising the contributions of its volunteers by offering them the opportunity to attend a guided tour of the Grimsby Masonic Hall.

The occasion takes place during National Volunteers Week 2019, spanning from June 1 to June 7 in the UK. The week provides charities and other organisations the chance to celebrate and say thank you to millions of volunteers for their endeavours throughout the year.

Included in those being recognised will be volunteers from Lincs Inspire’s Home Library Service, who provide monthly visits to housebound people and their carers who are unable to get to the library.

Also to receive acknowledgement will be those who volunteer their time to contribute their knowledge and expertise to the local history photograph collection and those who help support the local history group for visually impaired people.

The guided tour will be preceded by a thank you speech from Lincs Inspire Chief Executive Sue Wells.

Jennie Cartwright, Libraries’ Development Officer, Lincs Inspire said:

Our library volunteers are very generous with the time they give to support our services. This is our way of saying thank you to them and recognising the contribution that they make in helping to make a difference to the lives of people in the local community.
