Cleethorpes head up the M1 to meet 5th placed Barnsley Woolley Miners on their Shaw Lane Ground

Following last week’s win over Doncaster Town, in the 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League, Cleethorpes head up the M1 to meet 5th placed Barnsley Woolley Miners on their Shaw Lane Ground.
The Barnsley side have just started to put some good results together, and it’s no coincidence that their fortunes have changed since star batsman Harpreet Singh Bhalia arrived to resume his duties as their overseas player. Last Monday he demonstrated that he is in top form with a century against last season’s champions Wakefield.
In the corresponding game last season the Indian batsman hit an undefeated 157 as Barnsley rattled up a mammoth 253-5. In a spirited reply Cleethorpes failed by just 8 runs to match that score, losing 7 wickets in the process.
On Saturday, the Meggies will be hoping that their in-form batsmen can continue their record of exceeding 200 in every innings this season.
Once again they will be without Jordan Cook who is on bowling duty at Trent Bridge as the England batsmen prepare for their World Cup game against Pakistan on Monday.
Ben Rogers is unavailable this week but the Cleethorpes Club welcome back Alex Osmond for his first League game of the season. He was hospitalized prior to the start of the season and the Meggies have missed the contribution he can make to the side. Last term he hit 438 runs and claimed 42 wickets, and turned in many match winning performances.
