BMW voted least reliable used car.
According to a study of the most reliable cars in a poll of motorists. It was found that the BMW 1 Series is the nations most unreliable used car. And the 5 series was not far behind.
What Car magazine carried out the survey, ratings were assigned to models. It was based on how many faults were reported by drivers over the last year. Also how expensive they were to repair.
Japanese cars led the top ten list of reliable cars with Toyota Yaris heading the list with a reliability rating of 99.1 percent. Japan’s Mitsubishi ASX, Lexus RX, Honda civic diesel and Honda Jazz were all in the top ten. The poll was open to drivers of models between four and ten years old. They were asked how reliable their cars had been and what problems they faced.
The worst offenders in used cars were the BMW 1 series 2004-2011. Ford Kuga 2008-2012, Nissan Qashqai 2007-2013, Vauxhall Astra 2004-2009, Vauxhall Insignia 2008-2017.
