Armed Forces Day will be celebrated in Cleethorpes again from 28-30 June this year with the largest, free event on the east coast!
The resort, which has hosted Armed Forces Days for the last nine years, will once again see a series of military spectacles.
On the Army side, there’s a number of current and historic vehicles coming to town.
Star of the show will be the 56 tonne Challenger main battle tank, which will take part in the parade on Saturday, along with a Scimitar and Armoured Personnel carriers.
Also this year, there will be a selection of WW2 vehicles to commemorate the 75thanniversary of the liberation of Europe (D-Day). All the vehicles will be on display for the full weekend around The Knoll at the top of Knoll Street, with many taking part in the parade.
A mounted display troop of 16th Lancers are also taking part this year. They will be performing displays on the bowling green on Alexandra Road and will be leading the parade in their ceremonial blue uniforms. The bowling green displays will be happening on both Saturday and Sunday in the afternoon.
The Lincolnshire Re-enactment Group will also be hosting a display of WW2 vehicles and artefacts in Sea View Street.
More information about other service displays will be coming out in the next few weeks.
