Post-mortem to begin on body found in Humber estuary
A post-mortem examination will today be carried out on a body recovered from the Humber estuary, with police confirming it was found in water close to Spurn Point.
The body was recovered from water at about 15:30 yesterday, before being taken to Grimsby Docks, and earlier today it was passed to the Hull coroner for identification.
Formal identification will not take place until after today’s post-mortem examination is completed.
In a statement, Humberside Police said it was not currently in a position to confirm who it “believes it may be”.
