By Council Leader Ray Oxby has been involved in a crash outside his home.
Police were called to the incident by concerned neighbours, who attended shortly after, after it appeared that Councillor Oxby had crashed into his own garden wall.
There is damage to the low wall but seems no further damage was caused, however CCTV footage from neighbours has been passed to police.
It is unclear at this stage if any charges have been made but what do know is Councillor Oxby has been absent from all official engagements since.
NELC have declined to comment on the situation and so remains unclear what the official position of Councillor Oxby is.
On a separate report, information came in to the Grimsby Independent that a Senior Cabinet member was arrested over the weekend, this is still to be confirmed.
