By Humberside Police have issued an appeal for the name of suspects involved in the Libby Squire case to be kept private.
Detective Superintendent Matt Hutchinson is appealing to members of the media and public asking them to refrain from speculation about the name of the suspect arrested in relation to the search for Libby Squire.
He said:
“This is a live investigation with multiple active lines of enquiry and any speculation as to the names of suspects or details of the case could seriously harm the investigation and our ability to find Libby.
“We thank the public and the media for their ongoing support and concern and ask for their continuing co-operation.”
An appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of missing 21 year old Libby Squire was released over a week ago after she didn’t return home from a night out in Hull.
She was dropped off at home
Ms Squire was last seen in the Beverley Road area after being dropped off at her house on Wellesley Avenue.
Witnesses say they saw a silver vehicle being towed away from the suspects house after his arrest yesterday-it is thought to be part of the investigation.
Police have been searching a wooded area near a pond in Oak Road Playing Fields, close to where Ms Squire was last seen. A police helicopter has been seen hovering above the park.

Officers have been seen wading through waist-deep pond water in the hunt for Ms Squire.
Humberside Police have pleaded for anybody with information to come forward with anything that may help, no matter how insignificant you think it might be.
