Iron forward Nuttall linked with move to fellow National League side
Scunthorpe United striker Joe Nuttall could be on the verge of joining National League rivals Oldham Athletic.
That is according to independent Scunthorpe website Iron Bru, which has reported a medical is expected to take place at Boundary Park today.
The 25-year-old, who was born in nearby Bury and started his career with Manchester City, has been the standout player for the Iron this season, having registered five goals in the opening 10 league games of the season.
The finances surrounding the potential deal are so far unknown, with United experiencing cash-flow problems following relegation to the National League and issues surrounding the ownership.
If the transfer is concluded within the next few days, Nuttall could be lining up against the Iron when they head to Oldham next Tuesday.
Despite the speculation, the club have confirmed to BBC Radio Humberside that the striker is training at Glanford Park today.
