By Most vulnerable families getting help with £1.3m government cash boost
Some of the most vulnerable families across North Lincolnshire will be getting a much-needed boost this Winter after a government cash boost worth £1.3 million.
Low-income families with children will receive food vouchers worth £40 per child in December, with a further £40 promised in March.
Famililes who find themselves needing further support may also receive additional funding, designed to cover short-term needs for things like food, energy bills and essential household items.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “the latest Government cash will make a real difference to those most vulnerable in North Lincolnshire this winter.
“Where there is a genuine need, we will support…this scheme enables people to support themselves and their families at a time when they most need it.”
Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, said: “the wellbeing of children is a priority for us as a council and for parents across the area – the majority of this money will used to support children.
“The summer Government emergency grant scheme helped hundreds of people at a time of real need, so I am pleased we are able to continue to offer support.
“The Government, with the support of our local MPs Holly Mumby-Croft and Andrew Percy, have invested unprecedented amounts of money to support communities. We will ensure this latest grant helps the people most in need.”
