South Yorkshire attack leaves victim with bleed on the brain
An unprovoked attack by five males has left a man severely injured with a bleed on the brain, South Yorkshire Police have reported.
Brothers Stefan, Rudolph and Ludovik Kroscen punched and kicked the victim alongside two unnamed teenagers after his dog wandered up to them.
Altogether, they received a total of 11 years behind bars.
PC Danielle Hardman, investigating, said: “This was an unprovoked and sustained attack on a victim who was simply carrying out day-to-day activities.
“On 23 May this year, the victim was unloading his car at around 10.30am when his small dog had run off and approached Rudolph Kroscen. When the victim went over to get his dog back, Rudolph – for no apparent reason at all – punched him in the face.”
The victim punched Rudolph back in self-defence. Soon afterwards, Stefan, Ludovik and two boys aged 15 and 16 ran out of a property on Avondale Road in Rotherham and joined the attack.
The group of five continued to assault the victim, even using a broken stick, until a member of the public intervened.
The victim was left with numerous injuries, including a bleed on the brain, as well as cuts to his head, eye and eyebrow.
The five culprits pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
On Thursday 28 October, Stefan was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison at Sheffield Crown Court.
At earlier hearings, Rudolph was sentenced to three years, Ludovik to two years and six months and the two teenagers to 12 months each in jail.
