Still no Ukraine flag over town halls
The war in Ukraine has been waged for almost a month now.
There have been waves of support shown by people and businesses throughout the globe.
Other authorities have showcased the national flags of Ukraine.
It is evident, however, that no flag is flying over either Grimsby or Cleethorpes town halls.
There have been many locals in the region that have shown their support for Ukraine, with many flying their flags outside.
There have been others that have signed up for the refugee scheme, with staggering numbers.
Once again the general public has stepped up to show how it is done.
According to reports, Ward Councillor Karl Wilson said: ” There should be a Ukraine flag flying over the town hall. It would be a great symbol of our support”.
Councillor Phillip Jackson is due to propose a motion at a council meeting this evening.
According to reports, the motion states: ” This council is appalled by the shocking events in Ukraine and the devastating effects on her people. We welcome the generous support being offered by our local community to the people of Ukraine”.
“As a council. we pledge to do all we can to facilitate and enable further support across North East Lincolnshire, including for those families who have been forced to flee their homeland”.
It would be worth remembering affirmative action, over virtue politics.
Though the flag is not, the motion is due to be raised today.
