A man is set to go on trial for murder after the remains of Ilona Golabek were found in a park in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Officers for Lincolnshire Police were altered after a member of the public identified the bones last month.

A number of forensic tests were carried out before it was confirmed that the bones are human.

They were later identified as the bones of Ilona Golabek, 27, who was reported missing from Boston last November.

After an extensive investigation, a 40-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt said: “We have located some body parts concealed in bags in the park since we started searching the area on 19 February.

“We remain in the park and are continuing to search the location. Ilona’s family are aware and out our thoughts are with them.

“We are continuing our appeal for witnesses, and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in or around the park to contact us”

Kamil Ranoszek appeared at court is this morning, and the murder trial was set to begin in April.

Ranoszek has been remanded into custody ahead of the trial.
