Plan for kick-boxing studio to be converted into home

The North East Lincolnshire Council have received plans to convert a kick-boxing studio into a three-bedroom home with a garden roof.

The plans are the the kick-boxing studio at 24 Freeman Street, which has been empty for months, since Grimsby Martial Arts Academy moved to Cleethorpes.

The changes would renovate the first floor and add a roof garden with safe cladding, at a location being desirably close to the town centre.

Council planners are considering the application to change the use of premises, which has been submitted by Mr Z. Pihls from London.

His agent, Ross Davy Associates, said, “North East Lincolnshire Council is focused on regeneration of the
wider Freeman Street area.

“We believe that the change of use at first floor level into a 3 bedroom HMO will be a benefit to the building and area.

“Regeneration in the area is extremely important and the additional homes will contribute to the NELC housing supply.”
