One month to go till the Doncaster 10k
The Doncaster 10k is back for the fifth year running following a unique virtual experience during the pandemic last year.
Doncaster Racecourse will once again be hosting the triple-award-winning event on Sunday 28 November for 3000 people (alongside further virtual entries).
Participants will run 10km around the centre of Doncaster.
Tickets cost £22.50 each (or £12.50 for virtual entries).
The public is being urged to join the Doncaster 10k now if they wish to enter as places are limited and are selling out fast.
The race, supported by Doncaster Racecourse and Doncaster Council, aims to provide people with fun and challenging ways of getting physically fit faster.
In 2019, the Doncaster 10k event won an award for being the best in Yorkshire and came in second place for the national 10k category at the national running awards.
This year, Curly’s Athletes is working with charities such as the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, the Doncaster Deaf Trust and The Children’s Air Ambulance.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice aims to help youths whose lives have been cut short by tragic illnesses by providing a home for them and their families.
The Doncaster Deaf Trust not only works to help those with hearing impairments but also aids patients who also have further disabilities.
They have a nursey, a school and a college for the people who come to the trust.
25 of their staff members will be running the Doncaster 10k to raise money for a new shop and café at their location.
The Children’s Air Ambulance charity funds money for paediatric care for critically ill babies.
They are the first and only neonatal and paediatric helicopter emergency transfer service in the country.
Simply joining the Doncaster 10k benefits these charities, but if you would like to support them further, you can run for one of them whilst fundraising.
You could also make your own donation or run for your own charity.
