Nineteen nuisances to be banned in North Lincolnshire
Nineteen nuisances have been proposed to be included in the Public Space Protection Order which will cover all of North Lincolnshire.
Police and council enforcement officers will be given further powers to tackle these problems.
Breaching a PSPO without a reasonable excuse is punishable by a fine of up to £1000, followed by court proceedings if the fine is not paid.
North Lincolnshire council have created a form for the public which will determine which of the nineteen proposed nuisances should or should not be added to the PSPO.
The new list will target problem areas for anti-social behaviour such as Frodingham Road in Scunthorpe.
The list of proposed measures includes:
- Refusing to stop drinking in a public place when asked to do so
- Not carrying the means to pick up dog mess if walking a dog
- Street begging
- Causing a nuisance by riding a motorbike or quad bike
- Gathering in vehicles in a way that may cause harassment, alarm or distress
- Performing stunts in a vehicle, such as doughnutting or handbrake turns
- Not dispersing from an anti-social group of three or more when asked
- Swimming in open water after being asked to stop
- Not putting household waste in relevant bins
- A single person being in charge of more than four dogs in a public space
- Taking dogs from children’s play areas and other sides
