By Three arrested after Scunthorpe alleyway bag theft
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an incident in an alleyway in Scunthorpe.
A man and woman were walking along a path between Berkley Street and Sheffield Street at around 8.25pm yesterday (Monday) when the incident happened.
They reported being approached by three men, who allegedly assaulted them and stole the woman’s handbag.
The woman’s bag was recovered after being abandoned on a street.
Officers arrested two 29-year-old men and a 25-year-old man in connection with the incident, at a nearby property a short time later.
All three remain in Humberside Police custody and are assisting with enquiries.
