despicable act as an elderly woman in wheelchair has her bag stolen.
An 87-year-old woman in a wheelchair had her bag stolen which has left her badly shaken. She was on the way to Aldi’s in Cleethorpe Road when a man appeared from nowhere and stole her carrier bag containing her purse and handbag.
A friend was pushing her in the wheelchair through the cut-through between Victor Street and Hilda Street when a man all dressed in grey ran past them and grabbed the bag and ran off fast. Her bus pass, cards, and money to do her shopping was in the bag.
It is believed she has to use a wheelchair because of problems with her legs and cannot walk unaided and remarked that if her legs were working she would have run after him to try to get her bag back. she can’t believe why someone could do this to her it is disgusting.
Humberside Police have been informed.
