Talks to widen road after three cars are written off in the latest collision.

Councilors will discuss road safety improvements after the latest crash on Waltham’s Cheapside. Yesterday three cars collided on the road.

A Citroen driver crashed into a parked Honda  CRV car and damaged it beyond repair when low sun dazzled the driver. Another motorist was driving into the village in a Saab when it was struck by the Citroen. It is believed the rear wheel came off the Citroen and bounced 100 metres down a footpath.

It was lucky that there were no pedestrians in its path. The driver of the Citroen is thought to have been taken to hospital with minor injuries. Speed is not believed to be a factor in the latest collision, it was probably the sun dazzling the driver.

A resident said it is a joke the number of collisions down here and the many time’s residents have lost wing mirrors. It is the second car his neighbour has had written off.

Waltham Parish Council chairman will meet with North East Lincolnshire Council highways officers to discuss road safety improvements.
