The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to burglary at Swindon Crown Court on Friday 15 November 2019.
Detective Constable Jared Yalden, Community Tasking Team in Swindon, said: “We will do all we can to track down and prosecute those responsible for this horrendous crime.
“In this case, CCTV played a vital role in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting the offender, and I welcome the sentence he received.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage the local community to look at their homes from a burglar’s perspective and do everything they can to reduce their risk of becoming a victim”.
