By Drugs and weapons arrests after car followed and stopped on M180
A man and a woman have been arrested after a car believed to be involved in drug dealing in Grimsby was spotted in West Yorkshire and followed yesterday Monday 26 August.
The vehicle, a VW Golf, was observed around 11.45am and followed by our roads policing officers and tracked by the police helicopter.
The car was stopped on the eastbound M180 about a mile from the M18 junction using a three car ‘rolling road block’. No one was hurt and there was no damage to any of the vehicles.
A 28-year-old woman from Grimsby was arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a knife.
A 26-year-old man also from Grimsby was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug, supplying a controlled drug and possession of an offensive weapon. Drugs and weapons were seized from the car.
Both have been released under investigation.
