The former Mariners Rest which is at the junction of Oxford Street and Albion Street has been sealed off by Humberside Police. It is believed that a violent incident has taken place.
The pub has been closed for about a year and is believed to have homed some rough sleepers.
It is next door to the Hope Centre which is run by Harbour Place.Humberside Police are thought to be at the scene with crime investigators expected.The area around the shuttered building has been cordoned off.
